WhatsApp

I have a love, hate relationship with WhatsApp. It is super helpful in the sense that it allows me to communicate with friends and family in different countries all from the comfort of my own home, and without having to change my service plan, or pay to send text messaged or phone calls. At various ages, WhatsApp has been a prominent aspect of my life.

The first time WhatsApp made a significant appearance in my life was in elementary school. My mother has worked in higher education my whole entire life. When I got off enough to start doing things on my own, and it was easier for my dad to take of my brother and I alone. My mother went to places all over Europe.

Later in my life my mom started working in peacemaking in the Middle East with one of her coworkers at The University of Massachusetts Boston. She was gone for long periods of time, and me and my family communicated with her via WhatsApp. Fortunately she also got to participate in a Movie called the peacemaker while at the peace conferences.

Now to this day I still have WhatsApp downloaded on my phone, and for the most part I was the one traveling that needed to use it. Since my mom has traveled for as long as I've been alive, I have naturally taken a liking to traveling as well. I would use WhatsApp while traveling to Canada for hockey.

I use this app every single day. My boyfriend currently lives in Finland. WhatsApp is the main way I can communicate with him, whether it is just texting or FaceTiming, we use WhatsApp. There is no reason to pay extra to talk or text with your loved ones when you can do it for free on WhatsApp,
